Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Manager of Pharmacy System Oncology Operations (1.0FTE, Days) to work at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
Working with the System Pharmacy Director, the Manager organizes and directs the activities of the Swedish Cancer Institute Pharmacies and the Inpatient Oncology Pharmacy Services, to ensure safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients, according to established policies, procedures and protocols. Implements departmental goals and objectives, develops and assures professional standards, and assists in maintaining balanced budgets for assigned cost centers. Works closely with other Pharmacy management to set the operational and clinical goals for oncology pharmacy sites and to ensure that established policies for clinical programs and distributive functions are being adhered to by the staff. Collaborates with the medical staff, nursing staff and pharmacy staff to assure optimal oncology medication therapies and investigational drug services.
In this position you will: • Develop and maintain a medical-staff approved formulary • Acts as a clinical resource for medical, nursing and pharmacy staff • Participate as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee • Ensure maintenance of an adequate medication supply • Ensure strict control and accountability for medications dispensed to patients or distributed to floor stock • Oversee medication storage and preparation areas and facilitate implementation and maintenance of safe medication use processes • Assure adequate control and documentation of controlled substances • Provide input to Administration for development of operations and capital budgets • Establish sound department planning and development by working on preparation of budgets • Utilize input from patient, provider and employee satisfaction surveys, community need, product and practice research to establish budget needs • Provide oversight and direct supervision of pharmacy staff,including Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
Qualifications: Required qualifications for this position include: • A graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy • A current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Washington • Minimum of three years’ experience working as a pharmacist in an acute care setting with a focus on Oncology and/or Ambulatory Oncology Clinic • Minimum of six months in a management, supervisory or lead position, or an advanced degree in healthcare management/administration or similar field of study
