The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics (UIHC) has an opening for a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Antimicrobial. This pharmacist position provides pharmaceutical care services throughout acute areas of UIHC including adult and pediatric patient populations. They provide clinical support, monitoring, and education for patients and provide clinical practice guidance to acute care pharmacists related to antimicrobial therapies. Pharmacists at UIHC are involved in all aspects of patient care including, but not limited to, therapeutic drug monitoring, admission and discharge medication reconciliation, medication education, and precepting pharmacy learners including pharmacy students and PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents. They collaborate on a daily basis with other healthcare providers including, but not limited to, licensed independent practitioners, medical students and residents, nurses, and social workers and care coordinators.
