University of Iowa Health Care is currently accepting applications for Acute Care Clinical Pharmacists to provide patient care services in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care. The clinical pharmacist is responsible for all aspects of pharmaceutical care for adult patients in cardiology and pulmonary areas. The position will have rotating shifts including weekdays, weekends and evenings as well as occasional responsibilities in the adult dispensing satellite where the clinical pharmacist oversees preparation and dispensing of medications to acute care areas.
Clinical pharmacists at UIHC are involved in all aspects of patient care including, but not limited to, therapeutic drug monitoring, admission and discharge medication reconciliation, medication education, and precepting pharmacy learners. In addition to all members of the pharmacy team, they collaborate on a daily basis with other healthcare providers including, but not limited to, licensed independent practitioners, medical students and residents, nurses, and social workers and care coordinators.
