UF Health Shands is a nationally recognized 875-bed academic medical center located in beautiful Gainesville, Florida. UF Health provides diverse and comprehensive patient care services including a wide variety of critical care, hematology/oncology, pediatric, neurosurgical, cardiovascular and general medicine services.
We are currently seeking a clinical staff pharmacist to join our cardiovascular and neuromedicine clinical pharmacy team. The clinician will work with an existing team of two Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialists and five Clinical Staff Pharmacists to provide care to cardiovascular and neuromedicine patients.
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Participation in medication order verification for assigned patients
Drug therapy optimization and therapeutic review
Provide drug information to medical and nursing staff as requested
Adverse event reporting and medication error reporting when necessary
Participate in the professional development activities of the department
Precept pharmacy students and residents on Adult Internal Medicine and Cardiology rotations
Management of technician satellite staff during your shift
Participate in departmental quality improvement projects
Provide in-service(s) to pharmacy, medical and/or nursing staff
This position is scheduled primarily day shift and rotates through weekend coverage.
Candidates should have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and preferably completed PGY-1 pharmacy residency training program.
