Hours: This position will primarily work Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
The Clinical Coordinator, while reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, will work closely with the Operations Manager in the oversite of the pharmacy's clinical activities including promoting clinically rational drug therapies and sound pharmaceutical care throughout pharmacy practice programs, drug therapy policies and other programs. You will serve as the clinical resource at the site level while building relationship with other healthcare professionals, coordinating all activities related to the P&T Committee, Medication Safety and Adverse Drug Reaction reporting and formulary management. Occasional support for staffing, Antimicrobial Stewardship and other meetings and projects should be expected.
Facility: Metroplex Health System, includes Metroplex Hospital (MH), a 209 bed, 340B DSH hospital in Killeen,TX. The full-service, not-for-profit hospital offers comprehensive services including emergency, cardiac catherterization, intensive care, surgery. Other hospitals within the Metroplex Health system are nearby Metroplex Behavioral Hospital and Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
The 24/7 Pharmacy is centralized and supported by Cerner and Pyxis. Management of the Pharmacy is outsourced to Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) and the Director as well as Buyer, and Clinical Coordinator are CPS employees. All other staff are employees of the hospital.

Required Qualifications: - Pharm.D. required - Current Texas pharmacist license in good standing required - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as clinical pharmacist in an acute hospital setting - Previous clinical pharmacy leadership/coordinator experience
Skills/Abilities: - Proven success in networking, building relationships and consensus - Experience preparing and leading medical staff meetings - Knowledgeable and proficient in assessing the use and application of new medications and medication technology, including complex equipment and delivery systems - Demonstrated background working with physicians and nurses on committees, educational programs, training, etc. - Demonstrated ability to build collaborative and professional relationships with pharmacist, nurses, and physicians - Demonstrated ability to facilitate and educate a team of pharmacists and other health care professionals to review, implement and monitor clinical programs, therapeutic initiatives and other drug use policies and practices - Problem solving ability and analytical thinking required
