DIRECTOR OF PHARMACY CONTINUECARE HOSPITAL AT HENDRICK MEDICAL CENTER ABILENE, TX

Hours: The pharmacy is open Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm, with remote pharmacy services when the pharmacy is closed.
Description: As the Director of Pharmacy you will fill orders as well as be responsible for all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs. The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the continued growth, development, and implementation operational systems that support safe delivery of pharmaceutical care.
Facility: ContinueCARE Hospital at Hendrick Medical Center is a 19-bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) located on the 7th floor of the Jones Building at Hendrick Medical Center. ContinueCARE Hospital enjoys the best of both worlds by having a relationship with a large 364-bed acute-care hospital, yet maintaining a small hospital atmosphere. As a "hospital-within-a-hospital," ContinueCARE is a separate yet fully licensed acute-care hospital with the ability to provide intensive and complex medical treatment including specialty programs that are specifically designed to meet the needs of long-term, acute-care patients. Management of the pharmacy has been outsourced to Comprehensive Pharmacy Services.
Pharmacy Degree (BS or PharmD) from an accredited School of Pharmacy
Current Texas Pharmacist License in good standing
5 years pharmacist experience in a hospital setting
Pharmacy management experience a plus but willing to train
Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
Ability to work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital and pharmacy staff
