Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – School of Pharmacy (PCOM-SOP) is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time clinical instructor to be our Director Patient Care Simulations in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at PCOM Georgia (situated near the greater Atlanta area). The candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating Patient Care Skills Laboratories at the PCOM-SOP. The candidate is expected to have an in-depth understanding and experience in various clinical pharmacy practice skills including (but not limited to) patient assessment, point-of-care testing, dispensing and administration, aseptic technique, patient counseling and extemporaneous compounding. The Director Patient Care Simulations will be expected to teach Doctor of Pharmacy students in the core curriculum.

The Director Patient Care Simulations, will enable students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy program to fulfill their total personal, intellectual, and vocational objectives of the learning pharmacy practice. The duties and responsibilities for this position include (but not limited to) the following:
Coordination and assessment of Patient Care Skills laboratory courses.
Collaborate with the Director of Interprofessional Education in the delivery of our interprofessional curriculum.
Development of patient cases for simulation-based experiences using appropriate software.
Classroom and laboratory preparation, instruction and supervision of students.
Effectively maintain and manage the classroom, through the creation a vibrant learner-centered teaching atmosphere.
Measurement of student performance including the preparation, administration, grading and evaluation of student coursework.
Periodic evaluation of professional and skill development resources such library holdings and recommendations of e-books and resources.
Implementation and participation in service learning project(s).
Ensure an effective and safe level of direct supervision of students.
Attend faculty meetings as a member of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
Contributes to scholarly/research efforts related to simulation and performance-based activities.
Other tasks as needed.
Development and facilitation of Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE).
Coordination with PCOM Clinical Learning and Assessment Center (CLAC).
Instructional support in integrated case studies, didactic courses and experiential courses.
Contribute to the service needs of the School, serve on various committees and participate in the accreditation process.

The successful applicant will possess a Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE accredited pharmacy program.
Desirable qualifications include previous teaching experience in a classroom and laboratory setting, and academic experience in a college/school of pharmacy. Practice experience in health system and/or community pharmacy preferred.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:
Must hold or be eligible for an active pharmacist license from the State of Georgia.
