The Opportunity Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical and Support Services, the Senior Director of Pharmacy assumes responsibility for the development and execution of an overall strategic plan that is designed to effectively manage and continuously improve the medication management system throughout the continuum of care.
Essential Duties • Identify opportunities to leverage pharmacy expertise to improve quality, safety, the patient’s experience, patient access to quality healthcare across the continuum of care, and the economic performance of the organization • Execute on a quality improvement plan to ensure the best outcome through performance-improvement activities • Continually assess healthcare-related trends and discoveries to ensure that the value of the pharmacy and pharmacist is advocated for and advanced in the overall effort to improve patient care • Optimize the use of information systems and technology • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements • Provide oversight to retail pharmacy, ambulatory infusion, and work collaboratively with finance in stewardship activities
Qualifications • Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred or a Master’s degree from a college or university accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) • Business degree or pharmacy administrative fellowship preferred • Ten years of pharmacy leadership experience with increasingly complex management experience, including directing and supervising professional and management staff and clinical pharmacy program • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy • Active membership in the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists and affiliated state chapter
