Manage department; establish policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the provision of services; evaluate performance and maintain quality assurance; coordinate with other departments to provide maximum level of services to patients.
Data Collection and Analysis – Collect and analyze data to provide accurate documentation of outcomes. Develop and coordinate with the Pharmacy, nursing and sales processes for identifying, resolving and preventing actual and potential drug-related problems.
Performance Improvement – Participate in Pharmacy and HMH performance improvement programs. Assure programs are consistently observed and demonstrated.
Improvement and Evaluation – Provide leadership in recommending, establishing, monitoring and improving the provision of pharmaceutical care. Assist the Director and Pharmacy staff in the implementation and evaluation of pharmaceutical care on a continuous basis.
Meeting Management – Coordinate and participate in clinical Pharmacy staff development programs and other educational activities for organization Pharmacy personnel, including but not limited to, orientation programs, Pharmacy staff clinical meetings, general staff meetings and in-service meetings.
Pharmaceutical Updates – Consult and provide pharmaceutical information to physicians, Pharmacists, nurses and other health care providers on new drugs, drug protocol development, optimization of drug therapy, pharmacotherapeutic recommendations and other pharmaceutical information.
Staff Education – Provide assistance to the Pharmacy staff regarding drug information, medication therapy, outcome management and other pharmacotherapeutic issues.
Documentation – Assure that drug information references are kept current and resources are available to all shifts.
Staff Hiring and Review – Evaluate established goals and objectives on a continuous basis. Evaluate the clinical Pharmacy staff for improvement on a continuous basis.
Short and Long Range Planning – Initiate short range and long range planning of Pharmacy projects and services. Establish potential projects that translate into new revenue streams for the organization. Meet budgeted projections for growth.
Target Achievement – Collaborate with Director and sales representative to achieve growth targets.
Policies and Procedures – Assure that policies and procedures give clear direction and organization to the Pharmacy and relate to Pharmacy operations. Policies and procedures are in accordance with N.J. Board of Pharmacy regulations and USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines for sterile compounding.
Pharmacy Purchasing – Negotiate best prices and terms with vendors for items that are not available through group purchasing. Coordinate group purchasing activities. Direct all aspects of Pharmacy purchasing.
Budgets – Share responsibility with the Director for developing salary, operating and capital budgets. Monitors salary and operating expenses.
Time Management – Prioritize responsibilities and assure that procedures that promote efficient and organized workflow are followed. Make good use of time, and coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency on a consistent basis.
Problem Solving – Maintain complete knowledge of Pharmacy operations. Assure problems are assessed and solutions are arrived at, and good judgment is demonstrated on a consistent basis.
Public Relations – Work closely with sales department to build positive relationships with physicians, community agencies and HMH Affiliates. Oversee public relations program.
Compliance – Manage compliance with Human Resources policies and regulating bodies, including State and Federal regulatory agencies. Assure survey and performance improvement goals are met.
Customer Satisfaction – Assure benchmarks for customer satisfaction surveys are met.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Lifts a minimum of 10 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.
Bachelor of Science Degree from Accredited College of Pharmacy
Eight (8) to Ten (10) Years Pharmacy Experience
Five (5) to Seven (7) Years Management Experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
