PSI - CLINICAL PHARMACIST - FULL TIME - CENTRAL STATE HOSPITAL - LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY (KY)
Hours : This position is 40 hours a week with a typical work schedule of Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30. The pharmacist will need to take on-call hours as needed per established rotation with other pharmacists. The on--call is compensated time and flexible trading options with other staff.
As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will utilize your clinical knowledge in a progressive healthcare environment to lead the clinical pharmacy programs the hospital has served as a teaching facility Responsibilities Include: Leading clinical pharmacy programs and services; Developing drug policy to support optimal pharmaceutical care; Assess, develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain clinical pharmacy programs and services; Develop and implement an Annual Clinical Plan with Director of Pharmacy and the Regional Director of Clinical Service; Provide leadership role in the development and maintenance of drug policy that promotes optimal cost effective pharmaceutical care for all patients; Contribute to development and maintenance of clinically relevant tools to support clinical programs and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.
About the Facility: Central State Hospital is part of Commonwealth of KY and the pharmacy department provides services for approximately 100 beds, and an average daily census of 70. The Clinical Pharmacist will report to the Director of Pharmacy at Central State. Management of the pharmacy is by Pharmacy Systems, Inc. (PSI). This position is an employee of PSI and will have available the company's clinical tools and resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Leading clinical pharmacy programs and services. • Developing drug policy to support optimal pharmaceutical care. (i.e. Cost savings initiatives) • Assess, develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain clinical pharmacy programs and services. • Management and optimization of the daily clinical activities of the pharmacy staff. • Contribute to development and maintenance of clinically relevant tools to support clinical programs. • Provide a strong leadership role in the development and maintenance of drug policy that promotes optimal cost effective pharmaceutical care for all patients. • Serve as clinical pharmacy resource by responding to requests for information, and providing education to health care providers. • Perform occasional staffing for the Pharmacy. • Pharmacy hours Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
Requirements: • Pharm D • KY license in good standing or license eligible. • Flexibility for On-Call rotation. Preferred: • PGY1, PGY2 Residency through ASHP Accredited program or three years of clinical pharmacy experience
Hospital Requirements: • PPD/TB Skin Test- documentation of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months. Skin test provided on-site, if needed • Documentation of Influenza vaccine if Nov-May, vaccine provided on-site if needed • Facility and pharmacy orientation to be completed upon starting employment. • Required to have a valid Kentucky pharmacist license in good standing and eligible for Medication Therapy Services (MTS) certificate.
