The University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated, creative and dedicated individual for a full-time, calendar year, non-tenure stream faculty position at the rank of assistant/associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics. The successful applicant will actively contribute to patient care at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Horizon and the School of Pharmacy through innovation in the dynamic care of the general medicine patient population. The faculty member will be expected to enhance patient centered outcomes in patient care areas at UPMC by enhancing clinical pharmacy services and pharmacotherapeutic outcomes. Experience with medication protocol development, direct patient care, and patient focused research is expected. The incumbent is expected to teach in the professional curriculum, including large and small classroom teaching with active learning techniques such as simulation learning and other active learning techniques. The faculty member will also serve as a preceptor for students, residents, and other trainees. Development of a successful scholarship program with a focus in patient care and education is expected. The ideal candidate will have a PharmD with a minimum of three years of experience in internal medicine or other clinical pharmacy field; residency and/or fellowship training; board certification is highly desired. Other qualifications and experiences will be considered. Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
