Primary Purpose This clinical assistant professor position is based at the Anchorage Alaska delivery site for the College of Pharmacy and will be responsible for establishing clinical APPE ambulatory rotation at Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center. This faculty member is also responsible for didactic teaching commensurate with a 12-month non-tenure track appointment. Service to the College and University is also expected as is an active scholarship program, based on educational and/or clinical activities.
• Patient care and professional responsibilities: (25%)
Develop and deliver innovative collaborative practice pharmaceutical care services at Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center (ANHC). Patient care activities: develop collaborative care practices within integrated health service models, establish integrated clinical pharmacy services. Other clinical activities: Quality performance metrics, medication use evaluations, staff development, participate in ANHC P&T Committee, other. Provide preceptor development for other health care professionals and serve as liaison. Dispensing activities as needed to establish and maintain quality clinical services.
• Coordination and supervision of Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE/APPE) students: (30%)
Maintain an ambulatory medicine pharmacy practice site for APPE education at ANHC. Precept a maximum of 10 fourth-year pharmacy (P-4) students for APPEs (clerkships) annually. Precept maximum of 10 third-year IPPE students annually. Serve as a site coordinator and assist staff pharmacy preceptors in the orientation for Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) and other APPE students assigned to ANHC. Provide written/oral evaluation of student progress for ambulatory IPPE/APPE students as established for course requirements.
• Provide didactic teaching to PharmD and related health profession discipline: (25%)
Provide teaching in the didactic curriculum, including case studies facilitation.
• Scholarship (10%)
Develop and maintain an active scholarship program, commensurate with a non-tenure track, clinical faculty position as a role model practitioner/educator in the didactic and experiential components of the PharmD program.
• Service (10%)
Serve on assigned University, College, and Departmental committees commensurate with a non-tenure track, clinical faculty position. Minimum Qualifications
Pharm.D. degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
Ability to be licensed as a registered pharmacist in Alaska
Minimum of one year of residency or specialty residency or equivalent experience
Evidence of effective teaching
Evidence clinical scholarship
PGY1 in pharmacy practice discipline with preference given to candidates with ambulatory/primary care
Work experience in ambulatory/primary care setting
PGY2 – Ambulatory Care
Experiential teaching experience
Experience with billing/reimbursement for clinical pharmacy services
Evidence of recent (last 5 years) patient care activities
Experience with urban-underserved populations

Salary range is approved from $125,000 to $135,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. Includes a competitive benefits package.
