What you will do:
Responsible for all inpatient pharmacy related operations for Mercy, Hackley and Lakeshore Inpatient Pharmacies and 3 urgent care locations.
Develop, lead, implement and manage advanced inpatient pharmacy patient care services and practice standards.
Advance the Mercy Health Muskegon pharmacy practice model and define the roles/practice standards of pharmacists, residents, and students. Actively participate in the ongoing professional development of individual pharmacists via education, mentorship, and competency development
Assist and coordinate efforts to ensure organization meets compliance and quality improvement standards and initiatives. a) Assure compliance with Michigan Board of Pharmacy standards and Federal Pharmacy regulations. b) Assures compliance with sterile compounding (USP 797), non-sterile compounding (USP 795) and hazardous medications (USP 800).
Identify opportunities to redesign operational systems to maximize labor and operational efficiency.
Upcoming changes in next 18 months include EPIC implementation across region, construction projects, joining of two campuses, and addition of 2 carousel systems.
What you will need:
Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD. PharmD and MS or MBA focused on operation management and performance improvement preferred.
Two years of supervisory experience in pharmacy operations; or completion of a PGY-2 Administrative residency. Experience with information systems required.
Strong knowledge of pharmacy clinical practice, financial management, inventory control systems, quality assurance methods, regulatory standards from board of pharmacy standpoint and joint commission accreditation standpoint.
Ability to build relationships with direct reports; build trust and credibility to engage staff in ensuring department is supporting the organizational initiatives. (Initiatives include decreasing 30 day re-admissions, improving patient experience through improving medication access, and supporting staff development.
