Health System Director of Pharmacy Munson Medical Center Traverse City, Michigan
As a HealthSystem Director of Pharmacy, with Pharmacy Systems Inc. (PSI)at Munson Medical Center, you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team. In addition to managing the day to day pharmacy operations at Munson Medical Center, you will also provide supervision and oversight to the Directors of Pharmacy at 6 other Munson Hospitals in the Munson Healthcare System. Duties include:
Manage and direct the activities of the Pharmacy Department
Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with departmental policies and procedures
Maintain a system of staff development and evaluation to ensure compliance with regulatory issues and to promote optimal patient care
Develop and maintain a system of financial and inventory control according to hospital standards, including preparation, submission and administration of an annual departmental budget
Directs departmental participation in various hospital committees to ensure appropriate representation (including, but not limited to, Infection Control Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Safety Committee)
Business acumen including profit/loss understanding, contract negotiations, and GPO function
Knowledge of pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics
Problem solving ability and analytical thinking required
Effective verbal and written communication skills

BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
Michigan Pharmacist licensure in good standing
5+ years of recent inpatient Pharmacy Management experience over multiple hospitals
Must have thorough knowledge and experience with 340B program
Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility
Demonstrated teaching, relevant professional publications and involvement with Professional organizations
Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns and work cooperatively with other staff
