The Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy (AUHSOP) is seeking a Professor of Practice to support the new Practice Ready Curriculum in a unique student-centered learning environment during the academic year. This is a 9 month, 0.8 FTE, non-tenurable appointment designed to work with the HSOP faculty and staff to provide premier educational experiences. The position is based at the Auburn campus, but may include distance teaching with the Mobile campus. The candidate selected will primarily work in the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) and Interprofesional Education (IPE) activities in Clinical Health Services. As part of this, the candidate will be expected to spend time at the AU Healthcare and Education Clinic at Boykin providing direct patient care and precepting pharmacy students.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Participation in the Practice Ready Curriculum with Pharm.D. students, including in small and large group instruction, active delivery of educational content, and assessment of pharmacy related skills (grading assessments). • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide model care to patients in an interdisciplinary environment. • Utilize an electronic health record to document all patient care activities. • Identify patients for pharmacist led interventions using population health metrics. • Precept Pharm.D. students in both active and simulated patient care activities throughout all four years of the pharmacy curriculum.
Applicants must have earned a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS degree from an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy and be licensed in the state of Alabama. Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have a residency, board certification, extensive work experience in a clinical or academic environment, or other relevant credentials. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Candidates must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
