The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy is seeking a Kennedy Chair to serve as the College’s lead on several strategic priorities within the Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center. The College has been a leader in pharmacy education, research and training for over 150 years. The College’s mission is to prepare the next generation of innovative and collaborative pharmacists and health scientists while pioneering clinical, entrepreneurial, and research endeavors to improve health outcomes for residents of South Carolina and beyond. The Center supports the College’s mission by serving as the catalyst for revolutionizing pharmacy education and advancing practice through innovation and entrepreneurism. The Kennedy Chair is an integral member of the Center, which currently includes 5 faculty and staff members and seven student employees. Additionally, the candidate will join an existing faculty team within the College that includes over 70 locally, nationally, and internationally renowned individuals.
The Kennedy Chair will ignite the Center’s efforts that advance pharmacy practice by applying knowledge and expertise related, but not limited, to health information technology, personalized medicine, advanced payment models, regulatory affairs, or pharmacy practice to envision and create new roles for pharmacists. Additionally, the individual will collaborate with Center personnel, to develop and implement entrepreneurial and business skills training into the College’s curriculums and continuing education programs.
Candidates must have a master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited institution, at least 5 years’ relevant experience, and a strong record of innovation and entrepreneurship in the health care field. Experience developing new health care service models, technologies or businesses is preferred.
