The Informatics Pharmacist position will support, on site, the development and maintenance of active and passive clinical decision support systems in the electronic medical record. This position will require analytical thinking, problem solving, technical IT skills, and clinical knowledge of medications. The strongest candidates will have demonstrated ability to understand how clinicians integral to the medication use process use the electronic medical record, will have demonstrated application of PDSA, Lean, or other process improvement frameworks in recent roles, and will have demonstrated ability to categorize opportunities for intervention by potential for positive patient impact.
Serves as the primary technology resource for one or more information systems within Pharmacy. Responsibilities include planning and design of business solutions and resources needed to meet business goals/objectives; facilitating the integration of data, information, knowledge and/or systems to support improved productivity, efficiency, decision making, and/or quality outcomes in all roles and health care settings. Position is responsible for development, implementation, and management of system configurations/enhancements; and analyzing data, information, and information system requirements. Develops and provides a variety of reports. Provides technical expertise as a consultant to the user community, branch locations, affiliate or managed sites, Information Services, vendors, etc. Responsible for the orientation and on-going training and education of all user personnel.
Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy.
One (1) year of clinical experience, hospital experience preferred.
Experience working with clinical information systems with demonstrated experience working in systems support and/or implementation, preferred.
Licensed in at least one state as a registered pharmacist
On-site pharmacists who will enter the pharmacy must be licensed in Montana
Demonstrated project management skills.
Current Montana drivers license and the ability to be insured to operate Billings Clinic vehicles.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
