The Pharmacy Clinical Manager for Oncology will have a major role in the coordination of all aspects of clinical pharmacy services to oncology patients at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), a 672-bed tertiary care, teaching hospital, in Boston, MA.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services, the Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for leading and managing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services in our Hematology/Oncology clinical practice areas. The Clinical Manager will serve as the hiring manager for the clinical pharmacy staff in their related clinical practice sites. Other key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: developing and implementing clinical pharmacy programs and services in support of the pharmacy mission and strategic plan; promoting staff development, team building, clinical practice site optimization; leading and active participation in related hospital committees; development of practice related policies/procedures and guidelines which promote formulary management and compliance, medication safety, cost-effective practice, and optimal patient outcomes; leading and managing educational and training programs for the pharmacy staff, pharmacy residents, students and other health care professionals; and other clinical responsibilities as required.
The ideal candidate will have advanced training (PGY2 in Oncology), BCOP certification and/or equivalent clinical experience in oncology practice.
Doctoral degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
License Massachusetts Pharmacist required.
3-5 years related work experience required and 1-3 years supervisory/management experience required
Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.
