Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Pharmacy Department is seeking applicants for the PGY-2 pediatrics residency program. The PGY-2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency program at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin will provide the resident opportunity to enhance pharmacist skills in a pediatric acute care hospital while developing competence in direct patient care, practice management, and leadership. The PGY-2 pharmacy resident will have the opportunity to participate in health care rounds in all acute care rotations as well as work with Medical College of Wisconsin attending physicians, pediatric medical residents, PGY-1 pharmacy residents, pharmacy students from multiple schools of pharmacy, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and will provide a limited amount of decentralized pharmacy staffing. In addition, residents will have the opportunity to develop clinical programs and provide a limited amount of decentralized pharmacy staffing to further educational opportunities. Appointments to the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Medication Safety Committee, and Pharmacy Clinical Practice Council are included.
Required rotations include general pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant, and longitudinal rotations in committees, and research. Elective rotations include emergency department/trauma center, toxicology, academia/teaching certificate, solid organ transplant, antimicrobial stewardship, infectious disease, and investigational drug service.
Licensure in Wisconsin or license eligible, graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, completion of a PGY-1 pharmacy residency, academic transcripts, curriculum vitae, 3 project examples, and 3 letters of recommendation are required.
