This is a one year post graduate PGY2 residency in emergency medicine. This program is designed to develop and refine clinical, research, and management skills within emergency medicine. The resident will gain extensive knowledge and experience through mentorship provided by 10 EM pharmacists in two dedicated on-site emergency departments (Adult ED & Pediatric ED).
Example rotations include: adult emergency medicine (EM), pediatric EM, trauma/ICU EM, toxicology, adult ICU, pediatric ICU, pre-hospital care, EM management, disaster preparedness, and many electives.
Additional experiences include precepting and teaching at UM College of Pharmacy, research and writing projects, code blue experience, committee involvement and more.
We aim to prepare the resident to be a highly qualified candidate for Clinical Pharmacist, Clinical Track Faculty, or Adjunct Faculty positions.
