The Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member within the Adult Medicine Division based on our Abilene campus. The faculty member will provide adult medicine patient care services in the ICU step-down unit at Hendrick Medical Center. The School of Pharmacy has partnered with the Hendrick Medical Center for over 10 years to provide outstanding patient care and educational programs. The faculty member’s teaching responsibilities will include didactic, laboratory, case/simulation-based, and experiential teaching within the School of Pharmacy curriculum. The faculty member will engage in scholarship and service and will be expected to train pharmacy residents.
Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Pharmacy delivers dynamic educational programs and patient care services across four campuses in Amarillo, Abilene, Dallas/ Fort Worth, and Lubbock, Texas. The division boasts one of the largest groups of adult medicine clinical faculty in the nation. Division members located on each of our four campuses are recognized at the local, state, and national professional level. The size and diversity of the division allow significant new faculty mentorship and multiple opportunities for teaching and scholarly collaboration, both within and between the different clinical practice divisions. The School of Pharmacy provides new faculty members with programs designed to help transition into the academic environment.
The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a PGY1 residency in Pharmacy Practice. A PGY2 residency in Internal Medicine or other inpatient focus area, Board Certification, and teaching experience are strongly preferred. Licensure or eligibility to be licensed in the state of Texas is required. Professorial level will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
