PGY1 Pharmacy Resident (Acute Care Focus) - 12 positions

The PGY1 pharmacy residency at Froedtert Hospital offers a flexible training program with a focus in the acute care setting. Features of the program include the ability to tailor the learning experience according to the goals and needs of the individual resident. Required learning experiences include internal medicine, acute care staffing, pharmacy administration (several options available), and critical care (four options available). Elective experiences include, oncology, infectious diseases, emergency medicine, cardiology, neurology, solid organ transplant, ambulatory care (multiple options available), academia, investigational drugs, toxicology, and pharmacy informatics, among others. Other learning experiences include a year-long project, medication error review and multiple presentation opportunities throughout the year. Residents may elect to complete a teaching certificate through the Medical College of Wisconsin. Benefits include health, vision, dental insurance, paid time off, and six paid holidays. Froedtert also offers a non-traditional PGY1 program. Residents enrolled in this program complete the same required learning experiences over a 24 month time period. Non-traditional residents complete a rotational experience about every other month. In between rotations, residents staff in central pharmacy and on our decentral units.
11 PGY1 positions and 1 non-traditional (24 mo) position will be available this year.
Education: PharmD degree received from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy or equivalent as indicated by achievement of the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) Certification.
Licensure: Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License is required or eligible for and must obtain within 90 days of June start date
