We are currently seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Medical Oncology to join our pharmacy team within the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will be responsible for the provision and oversight of pharmacotherapy for adult solid tumor patients. The specialist will work collaboratively with members of the health care team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians and other pharmacy team members. The primary practice site will be in ambulatory oncology. The focus of this position will be to continue to develop oral chemotherapy monitoring services along specific disease state lines. The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center is experiencing tremendous growth on this campus with faculty available for the vast majority of solid and hematologic tumors. The oral oncology program on this campus is modeled after the programs developed at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Bayview and Green Spring Station campuses.
The specialist will provide drug information and education to patients, students, residents, pharmacists, and other health care practitioners. They will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 general practice residency program. Faculty appointments are available through affiliation with the College of Pharmacy at the University of Maryland. The successful candidate will support drug research conducted by the institution and seek to assume a leadership role in the profession of pharmacy.
Preferred qualifications for this position include the completion of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree, PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency and PGY-2 Oncology Practice residency, respectively.
