We offer 6 PGY2 programs (Ambulatory Care, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Diseases (NEW!), Medication Use Safety and Policy, and Pain Management/Palliative Care).
We are a 695 bed academic medical center located in Jacksonville, Florida that is part of the UF health system and functions as the Jacksonville campus for the University of Florida Health Science Center. The campus is home to North Florida’s only Level I Trauma Center, Level III neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Florida Poison Information Center. We also offer a comprehensive stroke program and are home to the UF Proton Beam facility.
UF Health Jacksonville has been recognized as a Magnet Hospital and has received the Sterling Award from the Governor of Florida. UF Health Jacksonville has long been a leader in emergency medicine, critical care practice, ambulatory care practice, and pain management practice in Northeast Florida. Our pharmacists play an active role in patient care, clinical research, patient safety initiatives, resident and student training, as well as medication use evaluation.
We have over 100 ICU beds with interdisciplinary practices in medical, surgical, trauma, cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, neurosurgical, neonatal and pediatric intensive care. Our Emergency Department is one of the Top 10 busiest in the nation with experience in a variety of emergency medicine settings including intensive care, pediatrics, intermediate care, resus, and trauma. Our Drug Information Center and involvement in a variety of hospital committees allows residents to develop a mastery of knowledge and an expert level of competency in medication-use policy, medication and patient safety, literature evaluation and informatics. Our extensive ambulatory care clinic practice offers experiences in primary and specialty clinics (including Anticoagulation, Pain Management, Diabetes, Hypertension, Hepatology, Renal, Cardiology, Neurology, Pulmonary Hypertension, Asthma, Rheumatology, HIV, and Wellness). Our pain management practice includes inpatient, outpatient and stewardship activities.
