UF Health Jacksonville (UFHJ) is a 695 bed academic medical center affiliated with the University of Florida. The hospital offers a Level I Trauma Center, Level III NICU, proton beam facility, Poison Information Center, certified stroke program and a variety of other clinical programs. The Department of Pharmacy is currently recruiting for a Medication-Use Policy and Safety Clinical Pharmacist to join the team.
The successful candidate will precept for our ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs and for students from the University of Florida and surrounding colleges. There are opportunities for research, publishing, didactic lectures and improvement of patient safety and professional practice through hospital committees. The Department supports professional development and encourages participation in the regional/national professional organizations. The responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to:
Provide support for Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee activities and its supporting subcommittees.
Assist in the evaluation and monitoring of new & existing medications.
Design therapeutic policies to ensure safe and effective use of medications within the institution.
Coordinate medication use evaluations for high risk, high cost, high utilization or high benefit drugs.
Perform regulatory compliance and quality improvement activities, including ADRs and nonformulary.
Manage the Drug Information Center and answer questions from health care professionals and consumers.
Precept pharmacy students and residents in Drug Information practice.
Serve as an expert, professional resource by applying clinical and literature interpretation skills, knowledge of hospital processes, operations and policies to solve practice problems and assist in the application and interpretation of Pharmacy laws and regulations to current practice.
