This residency program is designed to prepare the graduate for an advanced role in an ambulatory care setting, a leadership role or a faculty member role. The graduate will be prepared to develop new sustainable ambulatory care services, become a skilled teacher, practice independently, as well as be able to integrate into a variety of health care delivery models, communicate effectively and contribute to the advancement of the pharmacy profession.
Research projects and teaching activities are tailored to meet the needs/interests of the resident.
Residents will have the opportunity to precept PGY1 residents and PharmD students on clinical rotations.
External publications and presentations are encouraged.
Ambulatory Clinical Experience (Staffing) in Anticoagulation Clinic, Anemia Clinic, and other clinics as assigned based on resident preference and health system needs (longitudinal)

Requirements for Acceptance
Completion of ASHP Accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency
Milwaukee Residency Conferences (6 per year) — optional
ASHP Ambulatory Conference or other national ambulatory focused conference — recommended
Major project (Poster)
Present at appropriate professional meeting determined at discretion of program director
Manuscript Completion Major project must be summarized in a written format acceptable for publication. Submission for ASHP Best Practice Award is also acceptable. Residents are strongly encouraged to pursue publication and/or presentation of their project in a peer-review setting upon completion of their residency.
Minimum 8 hours/day (Monday – Friday)
Assist and support department in additional ways as needed
Complete assignments and evaluations on a timely basis
Participate in recruitment for incoming residency class
*Additional activities may be required based on project and rotation selection. Satisfactory completion of the above list is intended as a minimum to earn a Froedtert Hospital residency certificate.
