PGY2 Infectious Diseases Resident (2 positions) The Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin PGY-2 Infectious Diseases Residency at Froedtert Hospital is a 12-month program that is designed to provide an advanced experience in infectious diseases clinical practice and antimicrobial stewardship. The ID residency combines several required rotations (ID consult 1 and 2, antimicrobial stewardship, antimicrobial stewardship administration, microbiology/pathology, clinical research) with elective rotations (e.g., heme/onc, MICU, informatics and clinical decision support, HCV clinic, pediatric infectious diseases, community hospital ID, and others) and longitudinal clinic opportunities, which allows the resident to tailor the year to meet his/her objectives. Outcomes-focused research projects, active participation in the antimicrobial stewardship team, didactic teaching activities and precepting students and residents are integral components of the residency program as well. The resident will also be a member of the antimicrobial stewardship subcommittee and participate in longitudinal stewardship responsibilities such as the on-call program for restricted antimicrobials. The overall goal of this residency program is to develop a well-rounded, independent practitioner who is an integral member of ID multidisciplinary teams.
This specialty residency is designed to provide advanced clinical training in oncology and leadership development opportunities. Upon completion of the residency, the graduates’ advanced knowledge and leadership skills will enable them to practice as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team in the care of the oncology patient, engage in clinical instructor/precepting opportunities and they will be prepared to attain board certification (BCOP).
Flexible, comprehensive training in both acute care and ambulatory oncology settings with a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration.
