Cone Health is an integrated not-for-profit network of health care providers serving central North Carolina. Cone Health provides unique experiences across its integrated six hospitals, offering 1,273 licensed beds and a large ambulatory care delivery network that will expose residents to a broad range of practice sites, leadership roles, and experiential opportunities both in pharmacy and across the entire healthcare spectrum.
Our integrated multi-campus pharmacy division works as a strategic partner with providers to drive medication related clinical care decisions and business outcomes. The Department of Pharmacies provide a broad range of pharmacy services and are comprised of over 258 professionally and technically skilled individuals.
The HSPA residency is a 24 month post-PharmD training program. The two years are designed around practice-based educational program objectives with hands-on experiences. The PGY1 year focuses on the clinical foundation while the PGY2 year focuses on developing a well-rounded individual that will be capable of leading a wide range of pharmacy services.
Additionally, residents supplement their residency experiences with didactic training at the #1 school of pharmacy in the country, the University of North Carolina (UNC) Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Through the didactic curriculum, residents will earn a Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Health System Pharmacy Administration.
Teaching opportunities are also available through our affiliations with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and High Point University Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy. Additionally, residents will have the opportunity to teach students in the doctor of nursing practice program at the University of North Carolina – Greensboro.

Requirements: Pharm.D. with an acceptable academic record and high degree of professional motivation.
