The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) offers a PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency which is currently accredited by ASHP. The University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is nationally ranked and Iowa’s only National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center. Upon completion of this program, residents will be proficient oncology pharmacy specialists and able to sit for board certification.
Residents have the opportunity to gain expertise in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including adult hematology/oncology, adult bone marrow transplant, gynecologic oncology, pediatric hematology/oncology, immunocompromised infectious disease, radiation oncology, pain management, palliative care and informatics. Areas of additional emphasis include oncology pharmacy practice management and investigational drug services. A variety of teaching opportunities exist including preceptorship of pharmacy students, adjunct faculty position at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, and participation in a teaching certificate program. Completion of a formal clinical research project and a medication use evaluation is required.

Completion of an ASHP PGY1 accredited health system pharmacy residency.
Graduation from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy.
Current or eligible for Iowa Pharmacist licensure.
