New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) is looking for highly skilled pharmacists to provide patient centered care to adult patients within the inpatient setting. At NHRMC, pharmacists work closely with other healthcare providers and patients to optimize medication regimens using evidence-based medicine and standards of care. Integrated Practice Pharmacist work with providers and nurses to provide direct patient care services on medical and surgical floors. Integrated practice pharmacists participate in multidisciplinary rounds, optimize antibiotic use, monitor medication therapy, and patient education. Integrated practice pharmacists also provide services that maximize the hospital’s ability to meet national indicators with a focus on transitions of care. Other responsibilities include providing educational in-services, developing policies and/or processes to improve departmental operations, and serving as a student and/or resident preceptor. Breakdown of job responsibilities include: direct patient care (60%), order verification/medication distribution (20%), education (15%), and administration (5%). Other requirements include: BLS and ACLS certification.
Applicants must have graduated from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy, have completed a PGY1 residency or equivalent and be eligible for North Carolina licensure. Board Certification is encouraged.

New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) is an 855 bed, certified stroke and level II trauma center, with its primary service area including the seven-county region of Southeastern North Carolina. As a community teaching hospital, NHRMC houses 4 pharmacy residency programs (PGY1 Community-Based, PGY1 Pharmacy, PGY2 Ambulatory Care, PGY2 Critical Care), in addition to 4 medical residency programs (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Surgery). The main campus includes a 108 bed Emergency Department, women’s and children’s hospital, a behavioral health hospital, an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, and an ambulatory oncology center. The most common disease states encountered include sepsis, pneumonia, heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, and trauma.
