This PGY2 specialty residency program provides advanced training in ambulatory care to residents with an interest in academia. The practice sites include a VA Outpatient Clinic and Mercy Health Center, both located in Athens, GA. Residents will gain experience in managing a variety of chronic disease states under a scope of practice and collaborative practice agreements. Teaching and scholarship is also emphasized. Residents are appointed as graduate students at UGA and will receive a Graduate Certificate, in addition to the Residency Certificate, upon completion of the program. For those residents previously completing a Teaching and Learning Program, advanced teaching experiences will be completed as part of the Graduate Certificate program. Specific teaching opportunities include development of didactic, small group/skills laboratory and experiential teaching skills in the College of Pharmacy. Faculty development opportunities are also available. The residency is offered by the UGA College of Pharmacy in collaboration with the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center and Mercy Health Center.
