Job Description: Henry Ford Cancer Institute (HFCI) within the Henry Ford Health System is one of the largest cancer institutes in the state of Michigan. HFCI is comprised of five hospital locations and six outpatient cancer centers throughout southeastern Michigan treating over 14,000 patients per year. HFCI is currently recruiting for 1-3 Oncology clinical pharmacists to become part of a multidisciplinary team in the ambulatory oncology clinic and infusion center setting. The oncology pharmacist will be responsible for direct patient care by collaborating with physicians and nurses during clinic and infusion visits and conducting a daily clinical review of chemotherapy orders for each patient. The oncology pharmacist will also be a resource for drug information, provide patient education, and create and implement clinical protocols and practice guidelines. In addition, there are ample opportunities to be involved in precepting (Wayne State University students, PGY1 and PGY2 residents) and clinical research and publication.
The optimal candidate for the oncology generalist position will have completed a PGY1 residency with exposure to oncology or have oncology-related work experience.
The optimal candidate for the oncology specialist position will have completed a PGY2 residency in oncology or have a minimum of 3-5 years of oncology-related work experience.
