UPMC Pinnacle in Harrisburg, PA is recruiting for a Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to advance and expand upon its existing multidisciplinary patient care team.
Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialists work closely with the pharmacy leadership team, medical staff, resident physicians, nurses and fellow pharmacists in planning, implementing and assessing various medication-related programs within their specialty area(s). The Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialist functions as a member of the multidisciplinary critical care team with direct patient care responsibilities in both the Intensive Care and Emergency Department settings across the seven hospital health care system.
Additional responsibilities may include development of order sets, assessment of compliance with clinical practice guidelines, medication usage evaluations, development of medication management policies, participation on hospital committees, education of UPMC Pinnacle employees, development and administration of competency assessments, precepting of pharmacy students and PGY-1 pharmacy practice residents, and management of the medication formulary.
Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in Pennsylvania
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 in critical care or emergency medicine
BPS Board Certification in Critical Care Pharmacy
