The PGY-1/2 Health System Pharmacy Administration residency at UCMC is a directed, post-graduate training experience in pharmacy leadership. This program is concurrent with participation in the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Leadership Academy and pursuit of a master's degree from an affiliated academic institution. Clinical rotations are available in areas including internal medicine, critical care, infectious diseases, pediatrics, oncology, surgery, transplant, cardiology, neurology, and pharmacokinetics. Administrative rotations are available in areas including medication safety, pharmacy informatics, investigational drug services, clinical management, pharmacy operations, and ambulatory care. Completion of a formal clinical research project is required. Residents practice patient centered care, clinical and didactic teaching, research methodology, and clinical leadership.
Doctor of Pharmacy degree, eligibility for Illinois licensure and completed application via PhORCAS. Participation in Personnel Placement Service at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting is recommended.
