PGY2 Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership
This administration residency at UCMC is a directed, post-graduate training experience in pharmacy leadership, with the emphasis on specialty pharmacy. This program is concurrent with participation in the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Leadership Academy. Administrative rotations are available in areas Ambulatory Pharmacy Leadership, Advanced Clinical Management, Advanced Medication Safety, Pharmacy Data and Informatics, Finance/Reimbursement, and other ambulatory leadership opportunities in Central Fill Pharmacy, Meds2Beds, Comprehensive Medication Management, Personalized Therapeutics Clinic. Clinical areas include Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Hepatology, Neurology, Oncology, Women's Specialties, and Specialty Infusion. Completion of a formal clinical research project is required. Residents practice patient centered care, clinical and didactic teaching, research methodology, and clinical leadership.
A Doctor of Pharmacy degree, completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency, eligibility for Illinois licensure and completion of an application via PHORCAS are required for consideration.
