The Division of Clinical and Administrative Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at Xavier University of Louisiana seeks qualified individuals for two full time, 12 month, non-tenure track faculty positions in pharmacy practice.
Founded in 1925 by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, Xavier is Catholic and historically Black. Located in New Orleans, the ultimate purpose of the University is to contribute to the promotion of a more just and humane society by preparing its students to assume roles of leadership and service in a global society. This preparation takes place in a diverse learning and teaching environment that incorporates all relevant educational means, including research and community service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
Assist in the delivery of the PharmD program;
Teach a variety of topics, including pharmacotherapeutics;
Develop a clinical practice and education site;
Precept students and train residents at the site;
Engage in scholarly activity;
Contribute to the service needs of the College; and
Participate in the PGY1 residency program.
The preferred candidate will possess a Pharm.D. degree with successful completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 accredited residency program or have equivalent clinical training. Applicants must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Louisiana.
Desirable qualifications include previous teaching experience in a classroom setting or precepting students on rotations, or previous academic experience in a school of pharmacy. Practice area specialty in internal medicine is desirable.
