The Ambulatory Care PGY2 Residency at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy strives to create pharmacists to become change agents who can develop, implement, and deliver patient care services in an ambulatory setting. The program is designed to foster the development of knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to pursue and/or create and ambulatory practice in a culture of encouragement and accountability. At both primary practice sites (PrimaryOne Health, a FQHC, and OSU General Internal Medicine Clinics), the resident is embedded in an innovative primary care setting. Both sites are at the forefront of healthcare transformation and are utilizing pharmacists to provide high-value care to patients.
Pharmacists and residents practice at the top of their license delivering care in a team-based environment using collaborative practice agreements. Residents training within the program will graduate with skills in service development, evolving reimbursement models, population health initiatives, and progressive pharmacy practice. Residents will also be involved in both didactic and experiential teaching within a recently revised curriculum at the OSU College of Pharmacy.
