The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP) at University of the Sciences (USciences) offers a one-year Medical Information/Medical Affairs fellowship in conjunction with the McNeil Healthcare Division of Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc. Fellows are required to allocate their time between USciences (20%) and the Fort Washington campus of Johnson & Johnson (80%).
This consumer-based fellowship provides hands-on experiential training and skill development in both Medical Information and Medical Affairs. Additionally, this fellowship provides an opportunity to work on a variety of cross-functional projects with one-on-one shadowing opportunities in Regulatory Affairs. We are recruiting two (2) fellows for 2020.
FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Develop and cultivate core skills and competencies in analytical reasoning, critical and strategic thinking, problem solving, communication, influencing, and teamwork.
Advance professional responsibility and enhance leadership presence.
Enhance interpersonal communication through scientific engagement with healthcare providers, strategic business partners, and patients.
Strengthen ability to critically evaluate, interpret, synthesize, and communicate scientific information.
Instill knowledge of laws, compliance regulations, and guidance documents related to functional role.
Develop critical thinking and enhance clinical knowledge from industry-based projects and cross-functional teams.
Strengthen leadership and professionalism through participation in academic and industry initiatives.
Apply and communicate clinical knowledge to projects and project teams.
Evaluate and interpret scientific data on currently marketed OTC products.
Effectively communicate by engaging in scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and consumers
Foster relationships and expand professional network with both internal and external business partners.
Develop medical response documents and respond to escalated medical information requests.
Participate in development of fair and balanced medical communications documents and medical content review.
Engage with cross-functional teams and collaborate on multiple projects
Participate on multifunctional medical team that includes: Regulatory Affairs, Medical & Drug Information, Global Medical Safety, Research & Development, and Clinical Operations.
Participate in analysis and interpretation of clinical study data.
Provide medical support, such as medical training and education, to Marketing and Sales.
Assist in the development of medical content for congresses, symposia, and advisory boards.
Participate in analysis and interpretation fo clinical study data.
Appointment to Clinical Instructor in Pharmacy Practice.
Completion of a 12-month teaching certificate program that includes didactic/experiential teaching plus a continuing education (CE) presentation.
Participate in professional development workshops to enhance professional growth and leadership.
