The Stephenson Cancer Center (SCC) at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) invites applications for faculty positions. Rank and tenure eligibility to be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The SCC is Oklahoma’s only academic cancer center. With a well-developed infrastructure and over 250 members from the University of Oklahoma (OUHSC, OU Norman, and OU Tulsa) and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, the SCC places a high priority on conducting high-quality transdisciplinary and translational team-based science. We are currently looking to fill a Faculty level position that will serve as our Oncology Pharmacy Program Director. The selected candidate will provide direct supervision of comprehensive pharmacy services within oncology operational areas. Responsible for all operational aspects of pharmacy services. Develop policies, procedures, and goals in alignment with Service Line goals; acts as a liaison between physicians, nursing, pharmacy staff, and administration. Ensures compliances with all federal and state rules and regulations governing pharmacy services. In this role a candidates responsibilities would include but not limited to: - Direct comprehensive clinical and dispensing pharmacy services within oncology operational areas, including:
- Infusion
- Investigational Drug Service
- Oversight of Clinical Pharmacists in In Patient and Out Patient settings.
- Develop and implement strategic and business goals for the department. Directs departmental budget, operations, and the implementation of new programs, services, and practices in correspondence with the growth and development needs of the OU Health System.
- Promotes staff development and team building for clinical and dispensing, including retail and specialty, operational areas.
- Plan, develop, and maintain departmental policies and procedures of which promote formulary management, medication safety, cost-effective practice, and optimal patient outcomes. Assures compliance with the rules and regulations promulgated by State, Federal and other regulatory agencies.
- Plan, develop, and present educational programs for pharmacy staff and health care providers.
- Participates in providing experiential training for Pharmacy Residents and Pharmacy Students.
- Serve on task forces & committees, as assigned.
- Oversee, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned personnel; develop annual goals and objectives for personnel and the department; assign personnel and allocate resources in order to accomplish the goals of the department;
- Prepare internal and external reports as requested as well as perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Provide leadership in Pharmacological oversight in running of Phase I through III clinical trials.
The SCC is an NCI Designated Cancer Center and a Lead Academic Participating Site in the NCI-NCTN and has a large clinical trials program with a rapidly expanding early-phase clinical trials program.
