This PGY2 specialized residency in Infectious Diseases pharmacy practice is an organized, directed, post-graduate training program, which focuses on the development of the knowledge, attitudes, and skills required to provide pharmaceutical care for patients with infectious diseases. In addition, residents develop a clinical service or research project designed to improve pharmaceutical care services for patients with infectious diseases and participate in teaching. The resident will work closely with our medical colleagues (https://medicine.uw.edu/division/allergy-and-infectious-diseases) while on rotations. Residents have an integrated service commitment and work 32 hours per month in one of the pharmacies.
The University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC), Harborview Medical Center (HMC), and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) are comprehensive healthcare teaching facilities and serve as the primary training sites for the residency.
