ASHP-accredited PGY-2 Critical Care Residency Program
Orlando Regional Medical Center, a teaching hospital and Level I trauma center, is the primary training site for this one-year residency. Multidisciplinary critical care teams are intensivist-led and include a PGY-2 residency-trained clinical pharmacist preceptor. Required learning experiences include: Cardiovascular ICU, Emergency Medicine, Medical Critical Care (2), Neuro Critical Care, Surgical Critical Care (2), and Nutrition. Residency activities include completing a critical care research project, presenting two formal ACPE-accredited seminars, leading two PGY-2 journal club groups, participating in committees and critical care conferences, and performing additional critical care projects. Clinical service coverage and pharmacy operations experiences are each conducted approximately one weekend per month. In addition to two critical care residency positions, Orlando Health offers seven additional residency positions including PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency (4), PGY-2 Emergency Medicine(1), PGY-2 Hematology/Oncology (1), and PGY-2 Pediatrics (1).
