The solid organ transplant residency is a one-year ASHP-accredited specialty residency that offers in-depth experience in a variety of transplant populations. Last, UK performed more than 200 transplants across the kidney, liver, pancreas, heart and lung programs. Opportunities also exist within the transplant ambulatory clinic and other areas including mechanical circulatory support, cardio thoracic surgery/critical care, and transplant infectious diseases.
The primary aim is to develop the clinical, research, and professional skills necessary to succeed as a pharmacotherapy specialist in the area of solid organ transplantation. Residents also participate in providing 24-hour clinical pharmacy services through the in-house on-call program and provide longitudinal staffing.
Applicants are required to be on track to complete an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or have an adequate residency equivalent in practice.
