The emergency medicine residency is a one-year ASHP-accredited specialty residency that offers in-depth experience in a variety of intensive care areas along with electives such as toxicology, infectious diseases, pediatrics, and cardiology, along with six ED months. Rotation plans are built around the resident's prior experiences and multiple longitudinal experiences.
Residents also participate in providing 24-hour clinical pharmacy services through the in-house on-call program, provide longitudinal staffing, and are provided dedicated research time. Precepting and teaching students in advance pharmacy practice experiences and didactic settings is expected and scholarly activities may focus on clinical, practice-based, or outcomes research.
Applicants are required to be on track to complete an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or have an adequate residency equivalent in practice.
