Lifespan Corporation, Rhode Island's first health system, was founded in 1994 by Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital. The Director, Pharmacy Business Operations will provide leadership and oversight of the pharmacy business operations for Lifespan affiliates, including but not limited to, Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, Newport Hospital, Bradley Hospital, Lifespan Pharmacy LLC, Gateway Healthcare, and Lifespan Physician Group. This key leader will be responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the principles of the Lifespan Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct. Develop and recommend short and long-term goals for the pharmacy business operations in alignment with Lifespan’s mission, values and key business objectives.
This key leader will also provide direction in the effective utilization of resources including people, financial and material by developing goals and objectives for business operations in collaboration with direct report Managers. Develop business plans for inpatient and ambulatory care pharmacy services, in accordance with action planning to attain key operating objectives.
Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, health care or related field.
Master of Business Administration or advanced degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or Finance required.
Maintains current licensure as a licensed pharmacist and is eligible for licensure in the State of Rhode Island for pharmacist applicants.
Minimum of ten years progressively more responsible business operations and financial management experience in a hospital or health care setting.
Must have knowledge and understanding of payor contracts, the business of pharmacy and identifying new business centers as well as RFP development.
