The PGY1 residency program at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital will develop the resident into a well-rounded practitioner in preparation for generalist practice or PGY2 training. Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is a 401-bed acute care hospital that serves the Downriver and western Wayne County communities. It offers a full range of clinical services including general medicine, surgery, birthing center, level III trauma center and 24-hour emergency care. Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital also provides comprehensive physical medicine, rehab services, adult inpatient mental health services and neurological services.
Rotations are available in internal medicine, infectious disease, antimicrobial stewardship, ICU, oncology, emergency Medicine, drug information/medication safety and pharmacy administration. Didactic and clinical teaching opportunities are available as part of optional college of pharmacy teaching certificate and a required clinical teaching skill development program. Residents will present an accredited CE program and participate in pharmacy grand rounds seminar. All residents will develop and implement a longitudinal project. Additional research and publication opportunities are available in a variety of areas.
