The School of Pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and Indivior, a global specialty pharmaceutical company and the world leader in addiction treatment, are offering a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in Health Economics and Health Outcomes Research (HEOR). The goal of the Fellowship is to prepare individuals for careers in HEOR in industry, academia and government. The program is designed to help Fellows to develop skills in basic research design and methodology, statistical analysis, epidemiology, and pharmacoeconomic and health outcomes research. A major component of the program is hands-on research experience at VCU and Indivior.

The Fellowship will consist of two 12-month rotations, providing the opportunity to work in both an academic and pharmaceutical industry setting. The first year of the Fellowship will be spent at VCU where Fellows will have the opportunity to take courses in statistics, research design,  epidemiology, pharmacoeconomics and pharmacy benefit management / managed care as needed to fill gaps in their prior training. The majority of Fellow’s time in the first year will be spent participating in research projects with VCU faculty. Fellows will spend the second year of the program at Indivior where they will learn more about applying the principles of HEOR to the development and marketing of pharmaceutical products. The bulk of the second year will involve participation in research projects at Indivior. The Fellow will be expected to work with faculty and preceptors at both locations throughout the duration of the Fellowship. Fellows will be supervised and mentored by VCU School of Pharmacy faculty while at the university and by research scientists in Health Economics & Outcomes Research at Indivior. Each Fellow will also have a primary advisor to provide coordination, oversight, and mentoring throughout the 2-year fellowship. An individualized training plan will be developed for each Fellow.
