The Omnicell Autonomous Pharmacy vision is a roadmap designed to develop a zero error, fully automated medication management infrastructure that empowers pharmacists, nurses, clinicians, and pharmacy staff to focus on patient and clinician satisfaction, leading to improved patient care, fewer errors, enhanced safety, and new opportunities for growth.
This fellowship position is offered by Omnicell in partnership with and housed at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Duration will be 1 year, starting July 1, 2020, with the possibility of extension or post-fellowship hiring opportunities. This position will provide the training and experience needed to compete successfully for positions in pharmacy across the medication management industry.
The purpose of this fellowship is to develop research objectives, projects and proposals, undertake research and evaluate outcomes. Publications highly encouraged.
The Pharmacy Fellow will:
Inform and catalyze the creation of the fully autonomous pharmacy in the medication management industry
Act as principal investigator or co-investigator on research projects
Develop research objectives, projects and proposals
Conduct individual or collaborative research projects
Extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to research appropriate to the discipline
Writing or contributing to publications or disseminating research findings using media appropriate to the discipline
Make presentations at conferences or exhibit work at other appropriate events
Assess, interpret and evaluate outcomes of research
Search literature to obtain articles, citations and other published information related to clinical research projects
Develop new concepts and ideas to extend intellectual understanding
Contribute to knowledge generation, knowledge exchange and knowledge transfer activities
Contribute to written literature and publish outcomes
Complete a fellowship project for presentation at a key conference/congress. Additionally, fellows may be asked to attend other relevant scientific conventions, regulatory conferences, and other travel as required for business needs related to the fellow’s responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations and policies as they relate to pharmacy practice and customer/patient confidentiality.

Possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the pharmacy discipline to develop research programs and methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Evidence of the ability to collaborate actively to complete research projects and advance thinking
Able to balance the pressures of research, administrative demands and competing deadline
Graduate degree from accredited school of pharmacy, PharmD
North Carolina pharmacist licensure in good standing (or eligibility for licensure)
Prior experience in acute care hospital, non-acute care setting, or health system
Completion of ASHP-accredited residency
Evidence of published research in high-quality publications
Experience in teaching at undergraduate level
Experience in managing research projects and teams
· Able to travel and undertake duties at different healthcare organizations as required.
· Expected to work outside of normal office hours as needed.
