The Hematology/Oncology inpatient unit currently has 18 rooms with expansion to 25 rooms by early 2021. The Hematology/Oncology Ambulatory Clinic presently has 6 infusion chairs with an increase to 9 infusion chairs by early 2021. A pharmacist in this area will have opportunities to interact in both the acute care and ambulatory settings. Clinical activities include patient rounds with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, verification of chemotherapeutic regimens, pharmacokinetic monitoring, provision of drug information to other health care practitioners, and therapeutic interventions.
