The purpose of the ASHP-accredited PGY-1/PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) Residency at Methodist University Hospital is to provide the resident with the knowledge, skills and abilities to accept various positions in health-system pharmacy leadership. The specific program for each resident varies based upon his or her goals and all residents are required to complete rotations in core subject areas considered to be essential to the pharmacy practitioner and leader. Please refer to the University Hospital PGY-1 program for specific information about the first year component of the HSPAL residency.
The PGY2 resident will have the option to enroll at the University of Memphis to obtain a Masters of Business Administration. The program offers flexibility to take courses both online and on campus and can be completed at a pace and location congruent with the resident’s desires.
