Houston Methodist (HM) seeks to attract highly skilled, compassionate, dedicated clinical specialists (CS) pharmacists to work among our talented clinical pharmacy team members across our growing health-system. HM has various clinical specialist positions available among our eight regional Houston facilities.
An established pharmacist career ladder allows pharmacists with different training and experience levels to join HM and contribute to our mission while allowing for professional advancement and growth commiserate with demonstrated accomplishments. All clinical specialists participate in direct patient care, support HM education and training programs and lead quality-improvement and/or research activities.
Specific openings include:
Acute Care Internal Medicine Clinical Specialist 1 (Location: HMH - Texas Medical Center)
Critical Care Clinical Specialist 1 (Location: HMH - Texas Medical Center)
Outpatient Focused Oncology Clinical Specialist 1 (Locations: One position at HMH – Texas Medical Center and one position at HM - West Houston)
Emergency Department Clinical Specialist 1 (Location - HM Willowbrook)

Regarding the HM Clinical Specialist Career Ladder:
Clinical Specialist 1 (CS1) - requires PGY1 residency or equivalent experience with PGY2 training in affiliated specialty practice area preferred.
Clinical Specialist 2 (CS2) - requires PGY1 AND PGY2 in affiliated specialty practice area or equivalent experience (promotion opportunity for internal CS1)
Clinical Specialist 3 (CS3) - reserved for HM internal career ladder CS2 promotion
